Job summary

To work as a member of the PACS and Order Comms Team, to ensure the relevant systems are maintained efficiently and to effectively support the delivery of Imaging Services within the Trust, including the Lung Health Check Programme. To perform a range of administrative and system support functions under the guidance of the PACS Manager.

Main duties of the job

  • Take responsibility for ensuring that all daily checks and system administration duties are carried out by the junior PACS and Order Comms Administrators, in a timely manner and in accordance with the provided Standard Operating Procedures.
  • To monitor and manage own designated work load.
  • Ensuring the cross cover of colleagues and co-ordination of leave in line with departmental arrangements.

  • To aid in the training of the junior PACS and Order Comms Support Administrators, ensuring safe practice.

  • General Education to GCSE standard or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of further development.

Desirable

  • NVQ4 or additional training to diploma level equivalent

Skills

  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • The ability to deal with difficult customer queries in a polite and prompt manner in accordance with Trusts policies and procedures.
  • Highly developed keyboard and software application skills to ensure delivery of accurate and speedy information handling
  • Able to concentrate on complex tasks and deal with interruptions caused by system breakdowns or rapidly changing IM&T situations

  • Working knowledge of standard Microsoft Office applications
  • An interest in IT and experience of clinical systems are essential
