Job summary
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, forward thinking, committed and motivated Nursing Associate with excellent communication skills to join the cardiology directorate at North Manchester General Hospital.
This exciting new role within the cardiology directorate at North Manchester General Hospital will see you work alongside both nursing and clinical teams. The role will involve that of coordinating the care for our cardiology patient's awaiting procedure's. You will liaise on a daily basis with the cardiology coordinator at our other hospital site's, using and utilizing a system called CAT'S. You will also work closely with our cardiology clinician's attending ward rounds and MDT's, prepping patient's for their procedure's and ensuring our patient's are kept fully informed of when their procedure's will take place. You will be integral to the team and will be responsible for ensuring our patient's are listed on the CATS system.
The successful candidate will support the Ward Managers, Registered Nurses and multidisciplinary team to ensure safe management of our patients.
You should have excellent clinical, written and verbal communication skills and have completed the Trainee Nursing Associates course, gaining NMC registration.

Main duties of the job
The role of the Nursing Associate is to work with the Registered Nurse and other members of the multi professional team, providing and monitoring care and contributing to the ongoing assessment, as agreed with supervising clinician(s) and in line with the service pathways. They will monitor the condition and health needs of people within their care on a continual basis in partnership with the multi-professional team.
The Nursing Associate has a breadth of knowledge across the lifespan, providing holistic and person centered care and support for people of all ages and in a variety of settings. The Nursing Associate will help to bridge the gap between Health Care Support Workers/Nursing Assistants and Registered Nurses by working independently under the leadership of Registered Nurses, working within the sphere of nursing and care and within all aspects of the nursing process.
Nursing Associates are equipped with the knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes and behaviors relevant to employment; and will act in accordance with the NMC Code: Professional standards of practice and behavior for nurses, midwives and nursing associates.
