Job summary

Staff Nurse Neonatal Transport Available either as a permanent transport post or as a rotational post working between Connect NW at the brand new premises near Warrington and Newborn Intensive Care at St. Mary's Hospital.As a centre of excellence in neonatal care, NICU at St Mary's has a reputation for high standards and we are a provider of Level 3 care throughout Greater Manchester. Our state-of-the-art unit offers unparalleled opportunities in neonatal medicine and surgery. A unique opportunity has arisen for a motivated neonatal nurse to work in the cutting edge service Connect NW - the Neonatal Transport Service for the NW region and North Wales. You will role model high standards of care to patients and their families and strive for continuing excellence in all areas. You'll have plenty of scope for development, including the opportunity to enhance your leadership and clinical skills, and you'll play a key role in the provision of high quality care during transport.

Main duties of the job

The Connect NW service is currently hosted by Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and is about to move to new accomodation in dedicated premises near the centre of the NW region in Warrington. This will provide exceptional facilities to support the service development. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a flexible approach towards this potential change and alongside existing staff would be expected to transition into the new system. During this period of transition, the post holder and all existing members of staff will need to demonstrate a collaborative and proactive approach when integrating with staff from other transport services. Following the move to the single base, some revision of the post responsibilities may be required to ensure a streamlined service. As a qualified neonatal nurse with proven experience in a neonatal intensive care setting, you'll be working towards a mentoring qualification and possess a high level of clinical expertise. You will be capable of managing your workload and have a flexible approach with strong communication skills. The post will be available on a full time basis within Neonatal Transport, although it may also be possible to appoint candidates into a rotational post on NICU.
