Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic well motivated individual to work within the respiratory and sleep physiology team at North Manchester General Hospital and associated Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) in Harpurhey, part of the Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.
This is a rapidly growing service and we require an individual with the drive and ambition to move the service forward within the evolving field of respiratory and sleep medicine, providing high standards of patient care in keeping with trust values.
Main duties of the job
Working between North Manchester General Hospital and Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) on a rostered basis.
Plan, perform, interpret, and provide reports on a wide range of Respiratory and Sleep physiological investigations to patients of all age groups, without supervision, employing current standards.
Initiate CPAP treatment where appropriate and conduct follow-up CPAP compliance reviews, face to face and remote.
Teaching, training and mentoring of students and junior staff.

- ARTP Courses or equivalent
- RCCP/AHCS or HCPC registration.

- MSc (Hons) Clinical Physiology degree or equivalent.
Experience

- Substantial experience working within a Lung Function/Respiratory/Sleep Physiology department.
- Competent at performing and interpreting, full lung function tests, respiratory muscle tests, capillary blood gases and challenge testing (histamine).
- Competent at performing, scoring and interpreting home polygraphy sleep studies.
- Experience of CPAP issue and after care with patients.
Desirable
- Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
