Job summary
The Paediatric Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre (ECMC) Network is a national network comprising 11 centres across the UK. It is funded by CRUK, NIHR and the Scottish Government. The purpose of the network is fundamentally to increase access to new anticancer agents for children with cancer and leukaemia in the UK. The national network is divided into 4 regional networks, which each have a regular relapse discussion panel, and a national leukaemia relapse MDT. These 5 meetings broadly aim to discuss treatment options for children with cancer and leukaemia at the time of relapse. The meetings record data onto proformas which are then collated.
We are excited to offer the post of ECMC MDT Co-ordinator and Administrator working with the Paediatric Oncology Department
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for their workload and will be able to work without direct supervision and be an integral member of the Network
The post holder will be required to:
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills as they will need to liaise with staff at all levels associated with multi-disciplinary team working. Work well as part of a larger team as well as have the ability to work autonomously, be able to multi-task and be flexible in their approach..
- Facilitate the MDT meetings as well as the collection of data ensuring it is recorded on the appropriate database.
- Demonstrate attention to detail; exceptional organisational skills and be able to manage changing priorities as they arise, in a calm and professional manner to ensure the smooth running and efficient service.
- Have a good working knowledge of MS software, data collection skills.
- Have previous knowledge of working in a relevant hospital based role and have an understanding of clinical pathways and medical terminology
