Job summary

The post holders will be key members of the Audio Visual team at MFT. The vacancies will be based at the Oxford Road Campus (ORC) and North Manchester General Hospital sites (NMGH). They will have cross-site roles rotating between ORC, NMGH, and Wythenshawe Hospital depending on the needs of the service.

The post holders will provide a diverse and innovative range of support, on all AV and related IT systems applications to aid learning, teaching, and administration. They will prepare the educational spaces by providing AV and IT support to users. They will be responsible for the provision and expert advice, instruction and technical support to internal and external customers/users relating to the AV and videoconferencing service. This will also include the installation, commissioning, and relocation of new technical equipment in line with advances in technology. They will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the AV services at ORC and NMGH respectively. They will also deputise and assist the Senior AV Operational Manager and assist in the day-to-day operational management of the education and training facilities across MFT. They will also provide a bespoke AV service to the MFTs Board of Directors as required.

Main duties of the job

  • To have lead responsibility for the provision and maintenance of equipment and supplies in the ORC and NMGH teaching/campus facilities.
  • To have lead responsibility for the risk assessment pertaining to AV visual equipment and room furniture and space.
  • To have lead responsibility for adequate provision and regular maintenance of equipment and supplies in line with requirements of the customers/users.
  • The post holder will be responsible for investigating, analysing and resolving technical issues relating to equipment.
  • To ensure that the teaching room meets the standards set by the Education policies.
  • Developing new knowledge and competences in line with departmental requirements.
  • Ensuring all activities are carried out within a quality framework and meet regulatory requirements.
  • Produce technical material (e.g. guidelines, PowerPoint slides and promotional material).
  • Produce instructional material for the safe and proper use of AV equipment.
  • Produce graphics, video, and audio with use of Abode software packages
  • This post will include supervision responsibilities depending on the site you are located.
