Job summary

Due to internal promotion, an opportunity has arisen to appoint a Band 7 nurse within the field of Infection Prevention and Control/Tissue Viability. This is an exciting time to join an innovative and expanding team. Both specialities offer high profile agendas, and working corporately, will allow practitioners to develop skills across a wide range of clinical services.

The role will provide an opportunity for a motivated, enthusiastic nurse with an interest in Infection Prevention and Control and Tissue Viability to gain valuable experience across a wide variety of disciplines.Staff will have the opportunity to work on each of the hospital sites to broaden the wealth of experience each site offers and meet the service needs.

Core hours of the service are 08 - 17.00 covering 7 days a week.

Main duties of the job

The role provides the opportunity for a motivated enthusiastic nurse with an interest in Infection Prevention and Control/Tissue Viability to gain valuable experience working across a wide variety of services across the MFT footprint.

As a professional role model you will provide direct and indirect clinical care, ensuring the needs of the patient are central to service delivery. The successful candidate will monitor and improve standards of care through supervision of practice, clinical audit, evidence based practice, teaching and supporting professional colleagues and the provision of skilled professional leadership. The successful candidate will actively contribute to the clinical effectiveness processes within the service.

The successful candidate will be provided with exposure to all sites across MFT ensuring they are provided with optimal learning and development opportunities to consolidate their knowledge, skills and experience as an effective senior Infection Prevention and Control/Tissue Viability nurse specialist. The successful candidate will need the ability to travel independently.
