Job summary
The post holders will provide comprehensive care to podiatry patients with high foot risk, supporting patients on the diabetes and vascular foot pathways.
You will be based in community at Rusholme Health Centre and will be supported by the advanced podiatry leads in high risk care.
You will work closely with podiatry, nursing and medical colleagues in the multidisciplinary diabetic foot clinic at Rusholme Health Centre and in-reach to the Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism Centre and the inpatient service at Manchester Royal Infirmary (MRI).
Applications from new graduates in podiatry is encouraged - the role would be offered at AfC band 5 and the post holder would complete a band 5 to band 6 preceptorship over 2 years. On successful completion the post holder would progress to a band 6.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide an efficient and high quality specialised podiatry service for high risk patients throughout all specialist areas as per service need.
As an experienced autonomous practitioner they will assess, diagnose and treat patients on their case lists in all clinical settings.
Post holder will supervise recently qualified podiatrists, assistants and students.
Participate in Continuing Professional Development, clinical audit and in-service training.
Be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of their professional and clinical work, working to agreed national and professional standards.
