Job summary

The EDI (Equality, Diversity & Inclusion) Lead is a critical member of the LCOs' senior leadership team, making a vital contribution both strategically and operationally to the cultural journey of our organisation and in helping us achieve our ambitions to reduce health inequalities in our communities.

Main duties of the job

  • Lead the development, co-production and delivery of EDI activity and programmes, with specific and measurable outcomes to support the achievement of the LCO's EDI plans and objectives
  • Identify and address any needs, gaps, and potential risks to the LCO in relation to EDI WRES and WDES
  • Champion and build EDI networks for the LCO as appropriate, ensuring that they run effectively, that they create dialogue with the Executive and Senior Leadership teams and that they provide an active role and voice within the delivery and implementation of EDI plans and objectives
  • Analyse and interpret EDI data relating to the workforce and local communities and apply outcomes to the design, development and evaluation of health services promoting the delivery of culturally sensitive, accessible services that meet the needs of local communities
  • Identify the capability and learning needs of staff, including managers, in relation to EDI and collaborate with stakeholders on the design, development, delivery and evaluation of interventions to build awareness, confidence and capability
  • Support managers and staff in fulfilling their responsibilities to ensure that EDI legislation, guidance and best practice is embedded in LCO culture, decision-making and practices
  • Partner with the LCO Internal Comms and Engagement team to ensure the development, maintenance and publication of internal guidance and resources help support the LCOs EDI plans and objectives
