Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Clinical Perfusion Scientist with a share of the departmental on call.
The Cardiothoracic Directorate currently performs over 1000 adult Cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) procedures pre annum including a Heart Lung Transplantation programme.
MFT is the regional Respiratory VV ECMO centre for the North of England incorporating a mobile retrieval service. In addition MFT is also a regional heart failure centre and carries out the implantation of temporary and long term Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD).
The successful applicant will join a busy and friendly team of 10 staff who are committed to the delivery of a high quality perfusion service. This service includes routine CPB, intra aortic balloon pumping, cell salvage and coagulation studies.
Experience in ECMO, VAD implant and Transplantation is not essential as the training will be given to the successful candidate. More important, is the self motivation to work and learn within a supportive team enviroment.
This is an exciting time at Wythenshawe as we prepare to expand our cardiac services into a fourth theatre. The opportunity is here for a qualified perfusionist to learn new skills and challenge themselves with new experiences.
