An excellent opportunity has arisen for dedicated, dynamic and enthusiastic pharmacists to join the rotational teams at Manchester University Foundation Trust Pharmacy team on the Wythenshawe and Trafford hospital sites
As one of our rotational band 6 Pharmacists you will undertake a rotational, competency based, clinical training programme. This programme will enable you to rotate around the specialities within Wythenshawe and Trafford hospitals, which, in addition to all the specialist services expected in a teaching hospital, also includes regional specialties such as cardiology, cardiothoracics (including heart-lung transplants) and respiratory (with the North West Lung Centre). In addition, you will gain experience working across two different hospital settings.
You will work under the direct supervision of experienced Specialist Clinical Pharmacists to gain expertise in all specialities taking a pro-active approach to patient care. We encourage our rotational Pharmacists to undertake a postgraduate diploma to enhance and build on their clinical knowledge and competence, providing an excellent opportunity for your future career development.
Main duties of the job
This role includes an out of hours on-call commitment where you will further develop your clinical pharmacy knowledge, organisational, communication and negotiation skills and decision-making capabilities. However, we also are looking for band 6/7 pharmacists to be permanently based at Trafford General Hospital, where there is no on-call commitment.
We will support your development to progress to a band 7 role following completion of competency portfolio. Applications are welcomed from GPhC registered pharmacists with 1 year post registration hospital experience. Part-time hours and flexible working will be considered.
