Job summary

Reporting to the Head of Learning and Education, the Learning and Development Service Manager will manage and lead the Learning and Development Support Services Team to run an effective operational service, manage the Learning Management System and enable our eLearning Curriculum Team to deliver a bespoke service to the organisation.

This is a busy, fast paced role, managing a service that impacts each and every member of staff that works at MFT. From booking their induction for day 1 to ensuring they have a positive user experience of completing their Mandatory Training, additional bespoke learning for their role and being able to get help and support quickly and easily when they have queries.

This role is about being able to lead experts to deliver a unique, positive learner experience for all of our staff, handling day to day operational queries alongside supporting the management of projects to create content, upskill our workforce or support our Educators. You will have a strong background in project management alongside an ability to manage an operational service to achieve this.

You will be confident in leading a specialist team to deliver a first class service to the organisation by being proactive and forward thinking.This is an exciting time to join the Department as we begin delivery of our Annual Plan and ambitious objectives for the year and you will be key in delivering those bringing huge job satisfaction.

Main duties of the job

This is an exciting role where no two days will be the same! You will be working in partnership with key stakeholders, managing the Learning Management System, supporting the bespoke development of content through our in-house eLearning Curriculum Team and handling a variety of queries from staff, managers and affiliates at MFT.   • Lead the team to deliver key programmes of work within the Learning and Development framework and key objectives, including successful management of the Learning Management System
  • Hold responsibility for management of the broad range of system administration activities, database maintenance, training and user support for the Learning Management System.
  • Be the senior engagement lead and point of contact for key stakeholders across the organisation including representing the team at Departmental and Divisional meetings
  • Facilitate project and service improvement meetings and working groups
  • Support the development of policy and processes relating to Learning and Development
  • Prioritise and plan an unpredictable workload ensuring that deadlines are met amid the possibility of interruption
