Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Urology, Renal and Transplant CSU for a Unit Manager. . The position will focus on key workstreams in the CSU and will support Senior Leadership Team in the delivery of an efficient and effective service.

The Urology Renal and Transplant is a large CSU with over 500 employees and encompasses 3 large and diverse services. The management team is supportive, friendly and work together to achieve their vision, aims and objectives. The renal transplant service is one of the largest in the UK, undertaking over 300 transplants annually. The Urology Service is highly specialised, with expertise across all fields of urology including management of urological cancers, andrology and stones. The renal medicine service serves a large population and alongside its specialist nephrological care, manages dialysis sites across the Greater Manchester region.

Main duties of the job

The post will have a focus on business and contract management, patient experience and oversight of the renal medicine service. The CSU provides dialysis services across Greater Manchester and works in partnership with an external provider to deliver safe and effective care. The post-holder will work closely with our provider, operational and clinical teams to ensure the contract is effectively managed and implemented.

Regarding patient involvement, the CSU has just developed it's patient engagement framework and the post-holder will be pivotal to the continued development and delivery of this, building relationships with our patients, patient committees and enhancing our profile.

Finally, the post-holder will have an overview of the Renal Medicine Service, providing senior support to the Renal Service Manager and the operational team to enable our clinical teams to deliver safe and effective care.
