Job summary
We are looking to recruit a Grants Research Administrator within Research and Innovation (R&I) across Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) to support NIHR grants applications within the NIHR Research Grants Team.
The post holder will be integral for supporting the co-ordination of NIHR research grant applications, and have the opportunity to work with leading researchers in diverse and innovative areas. As well as supporting the administrative post-award financial management alongside the Senior Research Business Manager (SRBM).
This role is a developmental post, starting at Band 4 level - Grants Research Administrator - with progression to Band 5 Junior NIHR Grants Assistant, upon meeting set competencies outlined in the Band 5 job description at a 6 month review.
The successful applicant will work closely with a dedicated mentor who will provide robust training to enable them to meet the above competencies within the outlined timeframe.
This post is ideal for anyone who would like to develop and enhance their administrative skills in co-ordination of high complexity and large-scale projects.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for administration of grants within R&I in conjunction with the Research & Innovation Manager (R&IM)/Grants Research Assistant (GRA). Close liaison is required between the research team, MFT Research Office and the Regional Research Delivery Network.
The administrative post award financial management will support the SRBM. This will involve the need to confirm with the investigator that tasks and timings within the financial templates are appropriate for the grant. Alongside, supporting with tracking of expenditure and income from grants and raising invoices as required.
