It is a very exciting time to work in Greater Manchester. There are huge opportunities to review the model of care and service delivery as a result of devolution and integration of many services across the city.
Greater Manchester is a challenging place in which to work. The health of people in Greater Manchester is generally worse than the England average. Manchester is one of the 20% most deprived districts/unitary authorities in England and about 36% of children live in low income families. Life expectancy for both men and women is lower than the England average. Rates of sexually transmitted infections and TB are worse than average.
