Job summary
The DSD Quality Manager will be a key member of the DSD Management team with responsibility for the delivery and management of the DSD Quality Systems, and ensuring the department's compliance and accreditation to the current versions of all applicable standards including the UK Medical Device Regulations and BS EN ISO 13485 - Quality Systems: Medical Devices.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the development, delivery and maintenance of the departments' quality system, ensuring that highest standards are achieved. This will include devising training programs in conjunction with the DSD Training Manager, plans for implementation of the quality systems, monitoring of performance of the quality system, trending & interpretation of monitoring results (environmental, bioburden, performance, non- conformances etc.) and development of long term and strategic plans for continuous improvement across the Trust's DSD.

- Educated to degree level and/or equivalent experience
- An employment history in Sterile Services, operating theatres with sterile services involvement, personnel/people management, infection control, (production/quality systems) or medical device manufacture (production/quality systems)
- Must have been trained, and gained experience, in the skills of auditing.
- Previous experience with machinery which required validation, periodic testing, calibration and process documentation
- Basic IT skills & ability to use and interrogate the DSD Tracking system etc.
Desirable
- Full membership of Institute of Decontamination Sciences (IDSc)
- Qualification in Auditing
- Sound knowledge of the appropriate practices and procedures, which should be adhered to, in a Sterile Services Department
- Previous auditing experience in a Sterile Services Department
- Experience working with a Quality Management System or Quality Control environment
- Leadership qualities, motivator, good people management and organizational skills
