An exciting opportunity has arisen in the role of Contracts Manager, within the Contracts Team which is part of the wider Contracts, Income & Costing function Team which sits within Group Finance at MFT
MFT holds contracts with its NHS and local authority commissioners including but not restricted to ICB's, NHS England specialised and direct commissioning and devolved nation healthcare administrations. These contracts sum in excess of £2bn in value annually.
The post holder will support the Head of Contracts in ensuring that MFT services and corporate departments understand the organisation's contractual obligations as well as line manage the Contracts Team to ensure their day-day tasks are completed effectively and on time. They will support the Hospital services in ensuring that relevant service level agreement documentation is in place for Provider-Provider (Trust to Trust) services and Independent Sector providers Sub-contracts
Main duties of the job
- Supporting Hospital teams to develop appropriate NHS England standard sub-contract arrangements for clinical services with external customers/providers i.e. other NHS Trusts, Independent sector providers and third party providers
- Supporting Hospital Finance teams to ensure Service level agreements (SLA's) are in place for Salary recharges with other NHS Trusts
- The Provider-Provider (NHS Trust-NHS Trust) recharging process relating to imaging and diagnostic testing and ensuring service level agreements are agreed in conjunction with our Clinical and Scientific services (CSS) and other Providers on an annual basis
- Supporting the Head of Contracts to deal with queries raised by the Commissioners in relation to MFT'S obligation under the Contract(s)
- The post holder will have delegated line management responsibility for the Contracts Team who work on a hybrid of office/remote working. This will include supervision of delivery to deadlines for production of any invoicing and monitoring reports and ensuring queries/challenges dealt with by staff are done so in a timely and effective manner
- Ensuring that systems and procedures in place within the Contracts Team are up to date and fit for purpose
- Assisting the Head of Contracts with over-seeing the Chargeable Patients Policy to ensure MFT meets the legal requirements set out in the Department of Health's Implementing the Overseas Visitors Charging Regulations or any successor guidance
- Deputising for the Head of Contracts as required
