Maternity services at Saint Mary's provide women living in Central Manchester, Trafford, Salford, the North West and beyond with primary, secondary and tertiary obstetric services. Saint Mary's is renowned both regionally and nationally for its research, clinical fetal and maternal medicine services with a very complex patient population.
Due to the promotion of the current post holder an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced midwife to join the maternity team within Saint Mary's Maternity Services.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with knowledge of maternity digital systems to support the ongoing digital platform within our maternity services and lead on service changes including introduction of electronic patient records. The maternity digital lead will support the digital agenda with an energetic and motivated team of senior leaders, midwives, and obstetricians.
The post holder has a key leadership and management role at a senior level and will provide specialist skills and knowledge to support the organisation in reviewing and assessing of local maternity service digital requirement and overall collaboration of implementation of integrating a full digital maternity system. Supporting the daily business of data capture and on-going projects within the Trust and support in the analysis of current trends and benchmarking process flows and cultural norms for midwifery care across Saint Mary's Hospital MCS
Main duties of the job
The Digital Midwife will work in collaboration with the senior maternity leadership team, clinical leads and divisional management to design, plan and deliver the digital strategy, facilitating and implement change within Maternity Services including ensuring compliance with appropriate national standards
The Digital Midwife will be an effective ambassador for the trust, be credible and knowledgeable with the confidence and interpersonal skills to work with clinical, managerial and support staff at all levels across maternity services and the wider organisation. If you think you have the expertise in maternity digital programs and processes and have a proactive 'can do' approach, and confident in managing challenging and changing workloads we would like to hear from you.
You will need to be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a driving passion and determination to support the senior midwifery team in line with the exciting national picture of care and compassion. The successful candidates will need to have excellent IT knowledge and skill base of both midwifery clinical practice and the digital agenda.In this key role you will work closely with the Matrons, Lead Midwife for Governance and Deputy Head of Midwifery and will have access to a bespoke development plan.
