Job summary

We are looking for an experienced full time Band 6 Physiotherapist with a passion for musculoskeletal (MSK) physiotherapy and experience within MSK outpatients. The post will be based in one of our community physiotherapy clinics in the Central community neighbourhoods within Manchester Local Care Organisation (MLCO) linked with Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.

Our highly experienced community physiotherapy team comprises of a Consultant Physiotherapist, 9 Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioners and 2 Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioners, who work closely with our Band 7 and Band 6 physiotherapists. We provide specialist MSK physiotherapy and Tier 2 assessment and treatment services for adult patients referred by GPs from the fourneighbourhoods within Central Manchester. Many of our senior clinicians also work within our First Contact Practitioner Service, which provides expert MSK clinicians to GP practices in Primary Care within Central Manchester.

Main duties of the job

The role will include assessment, treatment and education of patients with MSK conditions referred to the service by their GP. The successful candidate will require excellent practical, clinical reasoning and communication skills to manage a complex caseload of patients on a one-to-one basis. There may also be the opportunity to participate in group-based sessions comprising of exercise and education components.The successful candidate will also be required to contribute to the Service'sclinical governance projects, including research, audit and service development.

The MLCO and Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust are committed to continued professional development and lifelong learning therefore candidates will be supported with the opportunity to participate in regular in-service training sessions, formal clinical supervision sessions and support from colleagues in a designated clinical hub within a local Health Centre.
