Job summary

To support the Estates and Facilities teams and operate as an integral member of the E&F team as well as working in conjunction with the Corporate Directorates senior management team.

The HR Manager is responsible for the provision of high quality strategic and operational workforce support to ensure best practice people management within their areas of responsibility.

The HR Manager is responsible for ensuring the contribution of HR expertise to business decision making and develop innovative people solutions to support business plans and strategy.

Main duties of the job

To liaise with other HR colleagues to maintain effective communication links, ensuring that best practice is shared and developed and to facilitate cross-cover of HR services.

To work in a manner consistent with the NHS Management Code of Conduct and the CIPD Code of Professional Conduct.

To ensure the operational and transformational Human Resources services are aligned within Directorates and corporate areas, to promote partnership working and the delivery of a proactive and customer centred service, which improves both the service and the patient experience.

To lead on specific HR projects as required including engaging with stakeholders, writing reports and delivering communications related to the projects.

To work alongside the Corporate Director and their teams in identifying workforce issues and developing appropriate business focused HR interventions; developing the people capability to support business planning.

Lead on the implementation of the Trusts workforce strategy within their specific area of responsibility.

Develop and implement workforce plans for the Corporate Directorates as part of the strategic planning process, aligned with the Trust's workforce strategy and tailored to the business ensuring delivery of excellent patient care and financial stability.

To inform the annual business planning process and support the transformation agenda by contributing to the workforce planning cycle, service improvement and role design.

  • An understanding of the national NHS agenda and the Human Resource contribution
  • A knowledge and understanding of employment legislation and employment issues
  • Detailed understanding of the principles of change management and contribution of the HR function to transformational change
