We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our team in a demanding but highly rewarding role. Working alongside the Clinical Leads and Senior Nursing team, the post-holder will have operational responsibility for the Acute Medicine, SDEC and Major Trauma Services. The role will also require you to support the Unit Director with the delivery of the overall objectives for the Clinical Service Unit (CSU) and deputise in their absence.

About Manchester Royal Infirmary (MRI)
One of 10 hospitals in the MFT group, the MRI was first established in 1752. It is a major university teaching hospital and specialist centre. It also provides adult acute services for our diverse patient population. as well as the provider of adult acute services for much of Manchester. It works in an integrated way within the MFT Group but has a proud history as the flagship hospital for the city.
We have 4,000 brilliant staff working at MRI, providing care for 300,000 outpatients 120,000 Emergency Department attendances and 80,000 inpatients every year.
The MRI is led by a team of experienced Directors, and is structured under 8 Clinical Service Units, each with its own senior leadership team headed up by a Unit Director reporting to the Director of Operations, supported by a Clinical Director and Lead Nurse. Working closely together as a CSU senior leadership team with the support of the MRI Directors, the CSU team apply the latest research, and evidenced based practice to ensure the most up to date patient safety, patient care and patient experience is delivered.
Unit Manager
Reporting to the Unit Director you will support the Clinical Service Unit in the operational management of all services. This involves supporting the delivery of all operational performance targets, including access targets, delivery of financial balance, trading gap plans, and the quality of services to patients and improving services towards best practice standards within available income.
The post holder works closely with the Clinical Service Unit (CSU) Senior Leadership Team to support the efficient and effective management of all resources in order to deliver improved performance. Promote quality improvement and lead on specific projects, programmes and business developments whilst supporting the CSU Senior Leadership Team to meet strategic and operational objectives, in partnership with other clinical and academic colleagues. The post holder will be required to participate in the on-call rota for the hospital.
