Job summary

As a member of the directorate senior leadership team the successful post holder will be responsible for working collaboratively with other Divisional Lead Nurses including managing Inpatient Wards, Surgical Triage Unit, Endoscopy, Theatres, Day Surgery Services and Pre-op areas on a day to day basis. The surgical directorate hosts a range of surgical specialties including Acute Surgery, Orthopaedic Trauma, Breast, Urology Gastroenterology and Oral Maxillofacial and the Endoscopy Unit. T

The post holder will provide managerial and professional leadership and be responsible and accountable for the delivery of a high quality, patient centered nursing service that meets the needs of the patient. The post holder will work closely with the Head of Nursing, Clinical Directors and Service Managers in the co-ordination and delivery of services in accordance with National and Trust Health Strategies.

Ensure a robust professional approach to service development and improvement and that any subsequent changes to structures, services and roles are underpinned by appropriate support and on-going development.

Together with the Senior Leadership Team and Lead Nurse will deliver the strategic direction of the division and take a lead role in negotiating, identifying, and implementing plans, which contain the required detail for services to be managed and delivered effectively.
