Job summary

The University Dental Hospital of Manchester is keen to appoint a substantive Consultant in Oral Medicine to provide specialist secondary and tertiary Oral Medicine services for adults and children and will be based in The University Dental Hospital of Manchester.

Main duties of the job

The Oral Medicine Service provides specialist care for children and adults. The majority of the clinical work involves diagnosis and management of the full range of oral medicine conditions. Services are provided at the University Dental Hospital of Manchester in the Department of Oral Medicine. Occasionally Oral Medicine Opinions may be required for inpatients at the Manchester Royal Infirmary or other sites of the trust.

  • Full registration with the United Kingdom General Dental Council (GDC)
  • On GDC Specialist list in oral Medicine or within six months of being admitted to the list for trainees currently in a training programme within the UK

Desirable

  • Full registration with the United Kingdom General Medical Council (GMC) if dually qualified
  • Fellowship in Dental Surgery or membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery or equivalent

Professional Qualifications

Essential

  • Intercollegiate Speciality Fellowship Exit (ISFE) in Oral Medicine, or equivalent
  • Possession of a Certificate of Accreditation or eligibility for a CCST in Oral Medicine, or within six months of eligibility.
