Job summary
The Healthy Schools programme is firmly established in Manchester. The ambition is to role out the healthy schools resource and model into Trafford and in doing so strengthen the Manchester provision and ensure an offer is in place in Trafford.
Healthy Schools is the universal public health/prevention (non-clinical) service for schools. The service contributes to reducing health inequalities and improving the health and wellbeing of children aged 5- 16 in the following public health areas:
- Relationship and Sexual Education
- Drugs and Alcohol Education
- Healthy Lifestyles
- Mental Health and Wellbeing
- Social and Emotional Health
- Unintentional Injury Prevention
- PHSE
This post is positioned within the School Health Service, part of the Children's Community Health Services Directorate, working across both Manchester and Trafford in Manchester Local Care Organisation.
Main duties of the job
You will be required to develop the healthy schools model to enable roll out to Trafford schools working with commissioners to agree parameters
You will need an in depth knowledge of the Healthy Schools programme
You will have significant experience of managing staff/leading teams
You will be able to engage and negotiate with stakeholders
Confidently communicate a clear vision
