The National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) is funded through the Department of Health to improve the health and wealth of the nation through research. The NIHR Clinical Research Network (NIHR CRN) is the clinical research delivery arm of the NHS in England, tasked with supporting the rapid set-up and effective conduct of studies enabling researchers to gather the robust evidence needed to improve treatments for NHS patients. The NIHR Clinical Research Network is led by a national Coordinating Centre, and operates through 15 Local Clinical Research Networks.
The NIHR Clinical Research Network: Greater Manchester (NIHR CRN GM) is looking for a highly motivated and organised individual to work with our combined Industry and Study Support Service Team.
Main duties of the job
NIHR CRN GM is hosted by Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MFT). This role will be integral to achieving corporate and strategic objectives. The NIHR CRN GM core team is based in Citylabs. The host is responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of research in the Trusts, primary care organisations and other qualified NHS providers throughout the Northwest region.Working as part of the Industry and Study Support Service team, you will work collaboratively with internal teams, CRN Coordinating Centres and external organisations involved in the running of research across Greater Manchester and the North West. You will have experience of working within a clinical research environment & will have knowledge of the research regulatory processes for gaining Ethics and Trust permissions to ensure effective and efficient study set up.The facilitator role will take an active role in the feasibility process; provide support to aid swift set-up times and performance management for all commercial portfolio studies. You must have a full understanding on the aims and objectives of the NIHR CRN. Experience of working with the pharmaceutical industry is desirable.
