Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a hardworking, dedicated and talented person looking to become part of our Nuclear Medicine imaging team at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT). You will join our friendly, collaborative and multidisciplinary team, providing a service to referrers from across the region. The role demands experience of independent working, excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to interact with a range of disciplines along with excellent patient communication. This is a training post and candidates will be expected to attend Salford University to earn a Post Graduate Diploma in Nuclear Medicine and subsequently gain and maintain RCT registration as part of their employment with the trust.

Main duties of the job

This role will consist of a broad range of duties and responsibilities within Nuclear Medicine, ensuring a high level of imaging quality for patients seen within the department. You will liaise with other healthcare professionals within and outside the department. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate they can get to grips with the highly technical side involving the equipment and techniques employed as well as being a caring and friendly, patient focused member of the team.

You will aid in protocol development and implementation, routine quality control and carry out the various imaging examinations performed by the department including SPECT-CT and PET-CT imaging. The PET-CT service operates an extended day and as such you will be expected to participate in the extended day rota.
