Job summary

We are looking for a number of dynamic and enthusiastic individuals who will embrace and support our vision and values and are ready to take on a challenging and fulfilling role as a graduate finance trainee within Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.

As a trainee you will rotate around key areas of finance, gaining valuable experience and knowledge of how each part of the department works as well as involvement in specific finance related projects. The role will be diverse in a fast-moving environment where both your personal and professional skills will be used to the full, from supporting clinical and operational colleagues with financial advice through to assisting with the preparation of year-end accounts as well as being involved with the development of the latest AI finance technology.

Main duties of the job

Throughout your hands on training, we will support you to complete a level 7 apprenticeship, gaining a professional CIPFA accounting qualification on completion. The role is fixed term for the duration of the apprenticeship with the opportunity for a substantive post if you successfully complete and excel during the programme.

Excellent IT, interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail and an ambition to gain experience alongside study is essential. The ability to manage and plan workload to challenging timescales is a must.

  • A minimum 2:2 degree in any subject OR hold the Level 4 Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification with at least 2 years' experience
  • Committed and proactive approach to studying for the CIPFA qualification
  • Willingness to develop through internal and external sources

Desirable

  • Achievement of English and Mathematics at level 2 or higher
  • Evidence of relevant continued professional development

Knowledge & Skills
