Job summary

The Specialist SLT will be part of the Speech and Language Therapy Service which provides

Assessment and intervention for children with speech, language, communication needs and feeding/swallowing disorders.

Universal, targeted and specialist training for multi-agency colleagues and parents/ carers

3 teams designed around the user's needs and age

- Children with Complex Needs

- Children and families in the Community

- Children requiring support in mainstream schools

Each team is currently professionally managed by a clinical lead SLT and overall by the Head of Service for Speech and Language Therapy.

We are co-located with teams from Social care and health in Sale, Cheshire

Main duties of the job

We are TraffordLocal Care Organisation - an exciting, new public sector organisation bringing together NHS community health services and adultsocial care services in Trafford. We're driven by the aim of improving the health of local people in Trafford by working across organisational boundaries.

Our community healthcare teams inadults andchildren's servicesare employed by Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust and deployed to us, linking closely with our colleagues in Manchester Local Care Organisation. Our teams work as one and together we will make a massive difference to the health of people in Trafford.

The Therapist will be accountable for a caseload of children with social communication and Autism in mainstream primary and secondary school and small specialist classes. This involves providing specialist assessment, diagnosis and treatment. This will involve working in collaboration with colleagues in multi-disciplinary teams.
