Paediatric Endocrine Nurse Specialist

Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Band 5/6 children and young people's nurse with an interest in paediatric endocrinology to apply for the post of Paediatric Endocrine Specialist Practitioner

Band 6, 37.5 hrs per week; 12 months fixed term

Main duties of the job

The post holder will offer support, advice and expertise to children, young people and families with paediatric endocrine disorders. The post holder will promote excellent practice in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and transition in the care of children and young people and their families with paediatric endocrine disorders. The post holder will provide a home/school visiting service for families as well as attending specialist paediatric endocrine clinics. The post holder will also support ongoing research in paediatric endocrinology. In addition, there is requirement to contribute to the development of MDT/team objectives for the service/specialty and also contribute to local and national clinical networks and specialty specific groups, working in partnership with other key professionals.

Analyse relevant National policy, advise on impact for service, and lead the implementation of changes and evaluation of processes in partnership with the MDT.
