Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for a driven and highly competent Imaging Applications Manager focused on the Imaging Systems at MFT. We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual, willing to lead the delivery of a high-quality service that covers the 10 hospitals across Manchester Foundation Trust, Ophthalmology and Cardiac imaging alongside general Radiographic images and over 500 integrated modalities.

The successful candidate will have proven technical experience and be an expert in all issues relating to and affecting PACS and associated clinical systems including RIS, EPIC and Order Comms and how they operate within various technical and clinical workflows. They will have a knowledge of IT standards, DICOM and HL7 and will be responsible for management and development of the IT systems supported by this post.

The Imaging Applications Manager will provide line management responsibility to the site PACS Managers and their teams and promote cross site collaboration and system working practices. They will liaise with relevant IT, Clinical and Research teams to provide expert advise and a high-quality digital imaging service

The role will also require close working relationships with the teams responsible for the internal EPR system used across the Trust. This is an exciting role for an individual who likes working in a fast paced and challenging environment and thrives under pressure.

Main duties of the job

Group Informatics are looking to recruit for a dynamic and forward thinking Applications Manager. The successful candidate will bring wealth of knowledge in developing and supporting the clinical and non clinical systems. The Applications Manager will lead in the delivery of second and third line support, system administration and system customisation for both Community and Acute services. The post holder will manage the designated systems to the highest possible standard, ensure benefits are realised and functionality is optimised, ensure system downtime is minimised and application associated risks are mitigated.

The post holder will manage a large team so staff/team management experience is essential to this role. You will also be responsible for managing the Training Team (s).
