Job summary

We are pleased to be recruiting a qualified CBT Therapist to join our Mental Health in Schools Team (MHST) in Southampton. Southampton MHST is an established and effective service which works dynamically and creatively with our local schools and colleges to support pupils, families and education staff with a focus on prevention and early intervention within their wellbeing journey.

Southampton MHST is pleased to offer city-wide coverage for its schools and colleges. The teams work within education settings to provide early intervention and prevention work for mild to moderate mental health difficulties as well as providing wider support and consultation to education staff. Teams also act as a link with local children and young people's mental health services and other local network partners.

Main duties of the job

The clinical team structure of the MHST consists of qualified Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHP), EMHP Supervisors, Senior Wellbeing Practitioners and CBT Therapists. The team also comprises of the Team Manager, Clinical Lead and Team Lead which offers strong leadership and governance structures within the team.

We are looking for candidates who have completed their training in High Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and who have BABCP accreditation or can evidence working towards accreditation. The successful candidate will deliver outcome focused, evidence-based interventions in educational settings for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties.

The post holder will work as part of a dynamic mental health team in a creative environment where evidence-based interventions, new ideas, ways of working and supporting children and young people are actively encouraged.
