Job summary
his is an exciting opportunity to fill the specialty doctor post within the well-established Basingstoke CAMHS Team. The role will be based at Bramblys Drive in Basingstoke. While outpatient clinics are predominantly on site within the division, the use of digital technology is increasing, leading to the expectation of remote consultations and contacts via video conferencing to meet service needs where appropriate or agreed.
The successful candidate will collaborate with key stakeholders to enhance psychiatric care for children and young people as well as their families as part of the team. They will deliver clinical care for patients open to the service.
Main duties of the job
*To provide mental health assessment, treatment and case management both directly and through colleague consultation to referred children and young people aged 0 - 18 years and to their families, according to criteria agreed with local commissioners.
*To record and communicate such activity as appropriate according to best practice and Trust requirements.
*To balance demand for both scheduled and unscheduled clinical care in collaboration with colleagues and service managers.
*To participate in team and peer clinical supervision and co-working arrangements.
*To join the local Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists' Peer Supervision and Continuing Professional Development Group.
*To respond flexibly to the reasonable requests of the service for exceptional unplanned activity such as may be required and for gradual change in the Consultant role as part of the evolution of children's services

Essential
- Recognised basic Medical Degree
- Full GMC Registration with license to practice
- 3 years full time hospital service in Psychiatry since registration
- Experience of assessing and treating patients in acute & community psychiatric settings
- Knowledge of UK Hospital Systems (or equivalent)
- Proven commitment to improving the quality of clinical care.
- Ability to take a full Psychiatric history, mental state and physical examination of patients
- Ability to manage own time, workload and prioritise clinical workload
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Dictate clear, concise letters to other professionals
- Competent to work without direct supervision
- Ability to use IT, including e-mail and the internet
- Knowledge of different models of care
