Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly and dedicated admin service. This role will have a focus on Cardiac Rehab and is based at Bitterne Health Centre in Southampton. This role is 18.75 hours per week.

We are looking for a committed, highly motivated and forward-thinking individual with an interest in ensuring excellent patient experience.

The role is predominantly office based, however there will be the opportunity for some home working.

You will need experience of administration, excellent organisational and IT skills.

You will need to have strong communication skills, be able to organize your own workload, have a flexible approach to working and be a team player.

Job Responsibilities

Managing telephone calls into the service.

Processing referrals and managing patient waiting lists & appointments.

Organising calendars, rotas and clinics.

Booking clinic appointments and ensuring slots are filled.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as part of the Community Cardiac Service providing comprehensive admin and clerical support.

*To effectively prioritise and manage own workload and oversee workload of the team as necessary, whilst maintaining confidentiality and diplomacy at all times, both independently and as part of a team.

*To work without direct supervision and show extensive use of initiative in prioritising and making decisions in relation to effectively supporting the smooth operation of the service.

*To carry out other duties as necessary to meet the changing needs of HIOWH NHS Trust, in accordance with management requirements and appropriate to banding.

*All duties will be carried out within the Trust's Information Governance, recording, and data sharing procedures and guidance.

*The post holder will be required to cover leave and absences of other Neuro & Specialist Services admin team members, and this may include tasks and duties related to other roles and may also include the necessity to travel to other team bases within the locality with prior notice.

The Cardiac Rehabilitation team provides input from specialist nurses and other healthcare professionals.The team are based at Bitterne Health Centre and run Rehab groups in Southampton City and the surrounding area.
