We are looking for a Physiotherapy Technician/Associate Practitioner to join our Community Rehab Team. The successful applicant will work with patients at home across Portsmouth delivering rehabilitation. You will work with Physiotherapists and Physiotherapy Associate Practitioners and on your own.

Main duties of the job

*To assess, plan and provide interventions for patients under the guidance of an Occupational Therapist.

*To organise and deliver Physiotherapist activities as part of the agreed intervention plan for patients under the supervision of a Physiotherapist.

*To assist the Occupational Therapist in carrying out interventions and to ensure the smooth running of the service.

*To be responsible for supporting band 3 therapy assistants including clinical supervision

*The post holder works under the guidance of a Physiotherapist to carry out interventions with a defined group of patients. They should ensure that they work within the scope of their competency meeting Trust and professional standards* and are expected to seek guidance when needed.

*This role will provide support in management of risk, developing therapeutic relationships, supporting people to live meaningful and fulfilling lives.

*Act as a role model for team members, supporting new or less experienced colleagues.

*This role will demonstrate excellent communication skills, using them to engage, persuade or negotiate with clients with complex, at times challenging needs to ensure they are provided with the most appropriate care and support.

  • GCSE Grade A-C in Maths & English or skills level 2 Maths & English or equivalent.

Experience

  • Insight into how to evaluate own strengths and development needs, seeking advice where appropriate.
  • Experience of providing and receiving complex, sensitive information.
