Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust

Crisis Worker - SARC

The closing date is 29 March 2026

Job summary

We are seeking a compassionate, resilient and motivated Crisis Worker to join our Sexual Assault Referral Centre SARC team. This vital role provides immediate crisis support, triage assessment and care coordination to individuals who have recently experienced rape or sexual assault, whether or not they choose to report to the police.

The post is 21 hours per week, worked across a 24/7 rota. Day shifts are usually office based between 0800 and 1600, with evening and night shifts delivered through on call telephone support. During on call periods, staff must be able to return to the clinic within 60 minutes if a client presents, ensuring timely and responsive care. Weekend on call shifts are routine and can be worked from home, with the same return to clinic requirement. Additional hours, including night on call shifts, may be available to support rota cover.

In line with Hampshire Constabulary compliance requirements, all applicants must be able to meet the criteria for enhanced police vetting known as Non Police Personnel Vetting Level 2 NPPV2. This vetting is required in addition to an enhanced DBS check. The eligibility criteria for NPPV2 are set independently by the police, and applicants must ensure they are able to meet these standards before applying. Unfortunately, if an applicant does not meet the NPPV2 vetting requirements, the recruitment process cannot continue. This is essential to maintain the safety, security and integrity of the SARC environment and the individuals we support.
