Team Leader: Community Mental Health

Job summary

The Community Mental Health Team are looking for a Team Lead to join their team.

The post holder will support the Service Manager to ensure the delivery of a pathway for people using services that meet all quality, financial and operational performance targets and ensure that these are monitored and tracked effectively.

The post holder will be expected to work in line with the Trust values and behave in a manner that facilitates the development of autonomous teams and individuals that are empowered, engaged and committed to continually delivering excellent care with compassion. The post holder will be an advocate for recovery and support the development of services in line with the division's strategy.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will:

Be responsible for ensuring the provision of safe services for all adults with a functional mental health need using Mental Health services in the community.

Work flexibly to ensure the safe delivery of services, ensuring the service complies with both local and national best practice and specified guidelines and frameworks for community based services.

Ensure compliance with Trust Policies and the Mental Health and Learning Disability Divisions clinical governance, performance monitoring and quality assurance frameworks.

Develop, co-ordinate and implement a process for managerial supervision, clinical supervision, case load management and staff annual appraisal.

Be responsible for recruitment and retention of personnel within delegated area of responsibility.

Work with team colleagues and external agencies to ensure that people who use the service and their families or carers are involved and development and delivery of services.

Ensure that the service has effective relationships with both internal and external services/organisations.

Regularly take part in the Manager On Call rota.

Take responsibility for working within and overseeing delegated budget.

  • Registered MH Nurse with live NMC Pin
  • Registered OT or Social Worker with relevant live registration

Desirable

  • Organisational Development knowledge and training
  • Quality Improvement training

Experience

  • Previous experience at a senior level (band 6 or above) within a similar speciality
  • Post basic relevant study equivalent to degree level or willingness to complete
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Recognised teaching qualification (e.g ENB 998 or mentorship qualification)

  • Fully computer literate as required for this post.
  • Optimistic and team orientated.
