Job summary

We are looking to recruit a band 4 Nursing Associate to join our dynamic and motivated i2i Urgent Assessment and Home Treatment team. The successful candidate will be supporting the provision of high-quality home treatment to young people under the care of Hampshire CAMHS, who require additional intervention often at times of crisis.

I2i is a county wide service that has three hubs across North and mid, South East and South West Hampshire. These are based in Basingstoke, Fareham and Ashurst. The successful candidate will primarily be based in Ashurst covering the New Forest area and Eastleigh. The team offers an 8-8 service in the week and 10-6 at weekends and bank holidays. This is covered by a flexible rota system, with a requirement for working some weekends and bank holidays. Being mobile is a key element of this role so the ability to drive and have use of own care is essential.

The successful candidate will be a highly valued member of the team providing home treatment to young people who may be in crisis. This is a permanent post of which full time or part time can be offered. If you have a passion for working with young people and families, this may be the perfect job for you.

Main duties of the job

The nursing associate has a breadth of knowledge and skills providing holistic and person centred care and support for people of all ages and in a variety of settings. The nursing associate works independently under the leadership of registered nurses, providing nursing care and delivering all aspects of the nursing process. This includes undertaking a full range of routine care and treatment tasks as directed by the registered nurse for in a range of mental health settings with patients who are experiencing a range of mental health issues. This will include observations and reporting on patients conditions.

Nursing work to a nationally recognised NMC code.

This role involves being part of a team providing high quality home treatment to young people under the care of CAMHS, who require additional intervention at times of crisis for severe and complex mental health needs, which may include depression, anxiety or eating disorders.

One of the main underpinning therapeutic models the team works with is DBT. Therefore, experience or an interest in this is crucial.

Experience of working with children or adolescents in a mental health setting and with eating disorders are desirable requirements for this post.

The candidate must have excellent communication skills and be able to effectively engage young people. The ability to work well within a team and forge good working relationships with multi-disciplinary and multi-agency colleagues is essential to this role.
