Main duties of the job
We are looking for Healthcare support workers across 2 of our services; Lymington New Forest Hospital and Romsey hospital.
Lymington New Forest Hospital has five in-patient wards including a stroke rehabilitation unit and medical assessment unit.
There are two wards at Romsey Hospital, Nightingale and Chichester with 19 beds. One is for male patients and one for female patients.
The services aims to rehabilitate or re-able people to return to their own homes, or where people are not able to return home to have undertaken appropriate assessment and liaised with relevant services to find an appropriate place for them.
You will work as an integral member of a multidisciplinary team, supporting patients to build independence and develop daily living skills, including personal hygiene, diet and fluids and participation in social activities as outlined in their Care Plan.
Assist and support qualified staff, carrying out assigned tasks as directed, without supervision. This will include housekeeping duties where required.
Demonstrate excellent communication skills, using them to engage, persuade or negotiate with clients with complex or challenging needs to ensure they receive the most appropriate care and support.
