Job summary
To contribute as an AHP Associate by delivering high quality care that supports the mobility and independence of the Isle of Wight community, working under the guidance and supervision of the wider Community Outpatients service line.
Working as a member of the Community Outpatient Services, an AHP Associate could look forwards to collaborating and developing skills alongside Podiatrists, Physiotherapists, Orthotists, Prosthetists, Technicians, an Occupational Therapist, a Nurse specialist and other non-registered professionals with a variety of clinical specialisms. Our diverse and dynamic team aspires to support our patients in a timely, safe and effective way whilst ensuring one another's wellbeing. Main duties of the job
To work as an AHP Associate providing high quality care, to maintain the mobility and independence of the Isle of Wight population, with the support and supervision of the wider Community Outpatients service line.
To work alongside the other members of the Cluster as a member of the multi professional team.
To ensure effective communication with patients, relatives and carers where there may be barriers to understanding.
To maintain accurate records of all patient consultations and related work carried out at each clinical session, including computerised data collection, according to departmental guidance.
To attend and actively contribute to locality, peer group and working group meetings.
To ensure effective communication with other professionals in the necessary delivery of all aspects of patient care.
To be responsible for the ongoing assessment of treatment plans, frequency of return periods for patients and identification of risk factors, escalating safely to senior colleagues as indicated.
To have the ability to use the decision-making process to identify when patients require the intervention of other professional and/or departmental specialist areas by following agreed departmental referral pathways.

Essential
- English and Maths GCE/GCSE or equivalent Grade C or above or equivalent qualification to demonstrate numeracy and literacy
- GCE AS/A level, NVQ level 3, Vocational Qualifications level 3, Baccalaureate Qualification Advanced or equivalent level of knowledge
- Computer literate with demonstrated ability to autonomously, effectively and efficiently use Microsoft office suite and intranet/internet
- Evidence of experience of working with Allied health Professionals within the NHS (such as work experience/observation sessions) or working within related NHS settings.
Desirable
- A-Level qualifications or equivalent (e.g. NVQ 3); Health & Social Care NVQ level III or above or equivalent experience
- CPD relevant to the profession
- Completion or commencement of The Care Certificate.
