We have an exciting opportunity to come and join our friendly and supportive team.The Winchester Rural East Community Care Team provides cover to both city and a large rural community within the Winchester district working shifts between the hours of 0800 am and 2000 pm, 7 days a week.We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to fill our band 3 Health Care Support Worker role to work in our mixed professional team. This will involve caring for patients in their own homes and seeing patients in the wound clinic. You will be committed to working within a generic competency framework that enable you to have the skills to work as a valued member of the team.Applicants must have or willingness to be working towards a NVQ Level 3Access to a vehicle and possession of a full driving license is essential.Community Experience is preferred but not essential. All support and training will be given to the right applicant
Main duties of the job
To provide a supporting role to registered practitioners in the Integrated Community Team in the delivery of nursing and rehabilitative care respecting patients' privacy and dignity at all times
To perform a range of clinical nursing skills as directed by the registered practitioners:
Skin care/Pressure Ulcer prevention
Vital Signs Temp/Pulse/Lying and Standing BP/Respiratory Rate
Mouth care/Eye care/Toe nails and Finger nails
Catheter care/Bladder washouts/Stoma care
Catheterisation (under registered practitioner discretion NVQ III Training)
Continence re-assessment
Bowel care (suppositories)
Venepuncture
Basic Wound care
Simple bandaging and paste bandaging
Short stretch bandaging under supervision and after training
To assist in planning, delivering and evaluating programmes of care and rehabilitation prescribed by the registered practitioners, regularly liaising at the beginning and throughout each shift.
