Job summary
Are you looking to develop your operational and strategic experience while maintaining excellent clinical skills as a Specialist Physiotherapist working with complex palliative patients? This could be the role for you.
You'll share responsibility for operational leadership and clinical and strategic service development within the Portsmouth and South East Hampshire Specialist Palliative Care Team. Working as part of a senior multidisciplinary leadership team, you'll contribute to an exciting period of service transformation and the development of strong clinical leadership across all professions.
The role includes direct clinical contact with patients in the community, managing complex situations, contributing to policy and service development, driving quality improvement and supporting service transformation. You will provide expert clinical support and education to patients with lifelimiting conditions, their families, and professionals across Portsmouth and SouthEast Hampshire.
You'll lead and coordinate the Specialist Palliative Care MDT team and work collaboratively with other Band 7 colleagues to appraise, supervise, and support staff, promoting a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
We're seeking a Physiotherapist with experience of deteriorating conditions, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively. We're committed to professional development and offer opportunities for further learning.
Main duties of the job
*Provide expert autonomous palliative care practice.
*Leading and coordinating the work of the Specialist Palliative Care (SPC) team, encompassing clinical, consultative, teaching, leadership and research functions to deliver this high level of service to all professionals, patients, families and carers.
*Influence clinical decisionmaking and ensure highquality patient care through advanced specialist knowledge grounded in theory, evidence, and experience.
*Offer operational leadership and contribute to strategic service development across the SPC team.
*Work collaboratively with other Band 7 CNS colleagues to appraise, supervise, and support the multidisciplinary team.
*Foster a culture of continuous improvement, promoting safety, quality, and innovation.
*Working in line with the requirements set out in the NMC/HCPC Governing Bodies.
