The Eating Disorder CAMHS team is a strong and supportive team and has excellent structures to offer regular supervision and support. This is a great opportunity to join our team in Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust within the Children & Families Service line to support in the delivery of high-quality children's mental health services. The post requires the holder, as a member of these multi-disciplinary community-based teams, to maintain a caseload under the direct supervision of the Senior Clinical Psychologist within the Eating Disorder Team in Southampton. They will be expected to undertake direct clinical work that demonstrates a high level of skill in supporting the child/young person, where families have severe and complex difficulties, e.g. screening, assessment, and therapeutic input in relation to the presentation of eating disorders. All children are seen in the context of their family, and you will work in a range of environments including the young person's home, school, college or community. The post will be based in the Eating Disorder Team Southampton, however there is an expectation that there will be opportunities to work in other locations in the wider Hampshire area.
Main duties of the job
*To undertake psychological assessments, including psychometric tests, questionnaires, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members and others involved in the clients care under clinical supervision.
*To assist in the preparation of assessment and management reports under the supervision of the Senior Clinical Psychologist and other members of the multi-disciplinary team within the Eating Disorder Team.
*To assist in the formulation and delivery of care plan involving psychological treatment and/or management of a child or young person's problems, under the supervision of the Senior Clinical Psychologist and other members of the multi-disciplinary team within the Eating Disorder Team.
*To attend case conferences, planning meetings and other relevant meetings as required and with guidance from a senior team member.
*To identify risk situations for the client group and participate in risk assessments. To undertake physical observations and risk assess based on the Medical Emergencies for Eating Disorder (MEED) guidelines.
*To prepare materials for specific interventions as required by the team including communication aids and teaching materials.
*To assist in the coordination and running of therapeutic groups.
* Meal supports within the community setting including home visits and schools.
