Job summary

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and flexible Community Public Health Nurse 5-19 (SCHPN) (formerly School Nurse) who enjoys the challenge of working with children and young people.

You will work from a variety of settings including schools, partner agencies and homes working flexibly and creatively to best engage and meet the diverse health needs of the 5-19 population, as part of the Andover & Winchester Public Health Nursing 5-19 team based at Southern House Otterbourne and a need to work to work out of its sister site at Beech Hurst in Andover.

You will lead the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme (DH 2009) within the locality and provide professional leadership to a skill mix team to enable the efficient and effective delivery of the commissioned service.

Main duties of the job

The primary role of the Community Public Health Nurse 5-19 (SCPHN) is to lead delivery of the commissioned elements of the Healthy Child Programme (DH 2009) including the 0-19 (Health Visiting and School Nursing) High Impact Areas.

The role includes providing clinical leadership and management support to Community Public Health Staff Nurse 5-19, Community Nursery Nurses, Community Public Health Assistants 5-19 to support the delivery of a quality 0-19 public health service in Hampshire.
