Job summary
We are looking for a Senior Finance Assistant to join our team!
This is a 15 months fixed term position covering a secondment.
In this role you provide comprehensive, professional accounting support into the Trust's financial services team, which has responsibility for overseeing routine transactional processes to ensure sound financial control to the Trust's main bank accounts as well as its Charitable Fund.
We are looking for an organised individual who has a working knowledge of financial and non-financial computer systems (including Microsoft Word and Excel) to intermediate level.

Main duties of the job
This role will include:
*Reconciliation of control accounts
*Clearance of interface files into the Trust's general ledger
*Raising of sales ledger invoices in accordance with a regular billing schedule as well as on an ad-hoc basis.
*Provide assistance for getting invoices approved on the payables ledger promptly and ensuring that these are cleared promptly by the budget manager.
*Support to the Trust's Treasury management activities, including aspects of credit control and leading on the chasing of outstanding customer debt, verifying payment requests issued by the team
*Support VAT/CIS return monthly process
*Support the monthly performance management (budgetary) reporting cycle by analysing and entering charges from consolidated invoices across multiple budget centres
*Support the monthly performance management (budgetary) reporting cycle by entering accrual and prepayment adjustments in accordance with contractual liabilities and charging to budget costs which may initially be processed against a suspense account.
*Support the financial processes required by the Trust to fulfil its statutory reporting obligations, e.g., production of annual accounts and the NHS Agreement of Balances exercise.
*Support Management Accounting team in the day-to-day management of income and expenditure budgets
*Support Management Accounting team in investigating financial queries and to provide advice to service managers and external suppliers
