We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our service, delivering high-quality, person-centred care to patients in their own homes and community settings.
About the Role:
As a Band 6 OT, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive rehabilitation and therapy interventions, supporting individuals to achieve their goals and maintain independence. You will manage a varied caseload, including complex cases, and contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives.

You will work collaboratively with nursing, frailty, and Primary Care colleagues to support complex care needs, prevent hospital admissions, and facilitate timely discharges. Your leadership will be instrumental in promoting a culture of continuous improvement, professional development, and compassionate care.
Development Opportunity:
We would also consider applications for a development post for an Occupational Therapist who has gained some experience at Band 5 and is ready to progress to Band 6. This will include a structured progression plan over a 12-month period, subject to meeting agreed competencies.
Main duties of the job
- To provide specialist therapy skills within the Integrated Community Team working both in the community and 9 bedded inpatient unit.
- To assess and treat own caseload, which may include complex presentations and to maintain own records as an autonomous practitioner.
- To assist senior staff in the education and supervision of junior colleagues, assistants and students.
- To assist senior staff in daily management of the team and provision of therapy service, deputising for the team leader in their absence.
- To assist senior staff in development and maintenance of an efficient and effective therapy service.
- To contribute to the inter-disciplinary working within the Community therapy team and Locality by teaching, learning & practicing inter-disciplinary skills & techniques as defined by an agreed competency framework or training scheme.
