Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a well-motivated, enthusiastic Respiratory nurse to work for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust within the Isle of Wight's Community Respiratory team.

This role will involve providing specialist advice, assessment and review of patients with a confirmed respiratory diagnosis.

The team is responsible for delivering specialist care to patients in their own home as well in our community clinics and venues across the Isle of Wight. The successful candidate will be expected to assess and treat patients with a wide variety of respiratory conditions.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will:

* Proactively and positively contribute to the successful overall performance of the Trust.

* Deliver excellent levels of customer service to all patients/visitors and staff at the Trust.

* Act as an advocate for the Trust & its contribution to the Health Service arena through creating and maintaining effective partnerships and relationships with staff, patients and the general public.

* Develop and support the Trust culture of collaborative, flexible cross-team working and commitment to delivering quality services and outcomes, which maintain the Government's policies on public health.

* Work with sensitivity and an understanding of the issues facing those working to deliver health services to the UK population.

* Develop effective ways of working and create strong partnerships and relationships with all stakeholders to support the implementation of the Government's policies on Health.

* Ensure that the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and other NMC guidance relating to professional practice is followed at all times.

  • * Registered General Nurse with current NMC registration.

Desirable

  • * Completion of relevant post basic education modules.
  • * Completion of mentorship and or NVQ assessors training.

Experience

  • * Knowledge of spirometry, oximetry, inhalers, nebulisers and oxygen therapy.
