Job summary
Are you an experienced clinician looking for your next challenge in CAMHS? Do you enjoy a combination of operational management and strategic leadership to develop excellent services for children, young people and families?
We are looking for a team manager to lead the Southampton and Portsmouth Single Point of Access (SPA).
Legacy services all have SPAs. Whilst their functions are broadly similar, their staffing models and establishments differ significantly. Coming together in a new subdivision requires us to develop more assimilated, streamlined SPA functions, and managers in each area will play a crucial role in working together to make this happen.
This role exists within a complicated system and the post-holder must be prepared for periods of significant change. If you're excited by this prospect and have ideas which you'd like to contribute to shape our new systems, we would welcome an application from you.
You will be supported by a Head of Clinical Services, senior clinical leadership and peers, all of whom are working together and are committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for young people accessing our services.
Open only to applicants from Hampshire & Isle of Wight NHS system, which is limited to: Hampshire and Isle of Wight ICB, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Healthcare FT, Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust, University Hospital Southampton FT, South Central Ambulance Service or Hampshire Hospitals FT.
Main duties of the job
This post has responsibility for the leadership of the Southampton and Portsmouth SPA, providing a visible and accessible presence, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and care are aspired to and achieved within the resources available.
Key areas of delivery:
To work effectively within a multidisciplinary setting, holding self and colleagues to account appropriately and demonstrating personal commitment to integrated (managerial/professional) leadership
To achieve an agreed set of performance targets (including financial)
To contribute to the planning and delivery of service objectives, managing specific change projects as required
To respond to complaints and incidents, ensuring timely and thorough investigation, effective communication of recommendations and closely monitoring actions to ensure they are fully implemented
To identify risk and take corrective action
To promote and display, via personal actions, support for Trust'policies
To deputise for the Head of Clinical Services, Head of Quality Governance and Team Managers as required
The post holder is expected to provide line management and clinical supervision, and work alongside others across the sub-division to embed a robust and continually improving approach to supporting children, young people and families.
There is an expectation that the post holder will be able to offer flexible hours which may on occasion include some evening and weekend work.
This post is subject to on call.
