Job summary

The Havant and Petersfield Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service are excited to invite applications for a Band 4 assistant Psychologist. This is a great opportunity to join our team in Children & Families Service line to support in the delivery of high-quality children's mental health services.

The successful candidate will have a keen interest in working collaboratively with children and families and with partner agencies to promote positive outcomes for children and families accessing our service.

You will have a role in supporting and enhancing the professional psychological care of clients within the Havant and Petersfield Community Child and Adolescent mental health service (CAMHs), providing psychological assessment and psychological interventions under the supervision of qualified professional psychologists, working independently according to a plan agreed with a qualified psychologist and within the overall framework of the Community CAMHs 'policies and procedures.

You will assist in clinically related administration, conduct of audits, collection of statistics, development of audit and/or research projects, teaching and project work.

Main duties of the job

*Providing support, co-ordination, and administration to clinical, training and research functions within the scope appropriate to level of training and competence, and to undertaking related tasks to enhance assessment, intervention and evaluation within the team or care group.

*To work independently according to a plan agreed and reviewed through regular supervision by a HCPC registered Practitioner Psychologist.

*To support assessment and treatment interventions with children, young people and / or families as appropriate to level of competence and training.

*To undertake direct and indirect clinical work as required under supervision from a Practitioner Psychologist.

*To liaise with a range of services (including health, social care and voluntary agencies) relevant to the work undertaken and within competence and training.

*To undertake assessments and interventions (for example neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect observations and semi-structured interviews of children, young people, family members and others involved in the young person's care), as appropriate to level of training, competence and under supervision from a Practitioner Psychologist.

*To assist in the coordination and running of therapeutic groups, training, audits or research projects.

*To attend and contribute to multi-disciplinary meetings.

*To carry out other clinical and administrative tasks as appropriate to the post holder's grade.
