Job summary
The Treetops SARC is a joint NHS and Hampshire Constabulary commissioned service for victims (of all ages) of sexual assault from across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. The Treetops SARC provides forensic, medical and aftercare services to victims of rape/sexual assault of all ages who either self-refer or are referred via the police or other agencies.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Lead to join the team at the Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC). The post covers the Sexual Assault Referral Centre that serves Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, as well as spending some time working in collaboration with the Sexual Health and HIV Service (SHHS).
The post will be 24 hours a week (6 PAs, 3 days a week) and will be fixed term for 18 months. The current base is Cosham but will be moving to Fareham.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical leadership to the team at SARC ensuring clinical and forensic standards are met and will work closely with the SHHS management team, reporting to the Clinical Director for SHHS. They will also work closely with partnership agencies including the police and sexual assault support services Hampshire and the IOW. They will be responsible for representing the service at contracts meetings with commissioners and must be able to support and influence the strategic direction of the service.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for someone who is passionate, innovative and resilient, with highly developed interpersonal skills and has the ability to lead a specialist service, ensuring it is represented nationally. The successful candidate will need to be able to manage the challenging clinical and business needs to ensure safe provision of the service and always maintain a high-quality service.
The post requires at least four years' experience as a forensic clinician within sexual assault services; they must have a medical qualification on the GMC full register as well as being a member of the Faculty of Forensic & Legal Medicine or membership of a Royal College and Licentiate of the Faculty of Forensic & Legal Medicine.
This role requires the ability to work with vulnerable, frail people, who may be distressed or experiencing pain, in a caring and compassionate way. A Disclosure and Barring System (DBS) check and Hampshire Police (NPPV3) vetting will be required for this role.
