Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated multi-skilled Ward Administrator to join the Southampton Division within Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will provide high quality and comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to the Acute Mental Health Service and will be based on the Inpatient Wards at Antelope House.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive and hardworking individual. You will need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as excellent time management.

You will need to be IT literate, able to work with current systems and processes ensuring security and accessibility of relevant information to help underpin the smooth running of the service.

We are looking for someone who can confidently demonstrate expertise in the full range of administrative skills. The role will include a wide variety of admin tasks such as admissions, discharges, ordering, word processing, minute taking and coordinating meetings.

You will work under the direction of the Administration supervisor but will be capable of using your own initiative. You will be required to adopt a flexible approach and must enjoy working as part of a skill mixed team.

  • *RSA II in typing/word processing or equivalent NVQ Level 3 in business administration

  • RSA III typing/word processing
